Shoaib Malik announced that he will be retiring next year and given his experience as a Pakistan captain and player he would never make himself available for Pakistan selection again.

Malik in a hard hitting press conference said he was removed from the captaincy twice in acrimonious circumstances and was made a scapegoat by the cricket board when he had done his best as captain to rally the players.

“If some of these players are not interested in performing for their country and justifying their money what can I do. I told the management to take action against such players but the manager only kept on making excuses and said he can’t do anything,” Malik said.
